DevOps

What is DevOps?
DevOps is the cultural and professional movement that stresses communication, collaboration, integration and automation in order to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT operations professionals.

DevOps certifications are offered by The DevOps Institute (DOI), which brings enterprise level DevOps training and certification to the IT market and set the standard in quality for enterprise grade DevOps education and training.

The DevOps Institute catalogue currently contains three classes and certifications.
DevOps Foundation® (DevOps)
This course provides an introduction to DevOps – the cultural and professional movement that stresses communication, collaboration, integration and automation in order to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT operations professionals. Improved workflows will result in an improved ability to design, develop, deploy and operate software and services faster. The DevOps Foundation certificate will be the pre-requisite for future DevOps certification courses; including DevOps Practitioner.

Certified Agile Service Manager® (CASM)
This course provides an introduction to Agile Service Management –- the application and integration of agile thinking into service management processes and process design projects. Agile thinking improves process efficiency, reduces waste and provides an ongoing capability for IT to continue to deliver value even in the face of changing requirements.

Certified Agile Process Owner®(CAPO)
The course describes process owner responsibilities and provides the education needed to oversee the design, re-engineering and improvement of IT Service Management processes; particularly in the context of Agile Service Management. Participants learn how to use Agile and Lean principles and practices to put in place ‘just enough’ process and how to continually align process performance with the business goals.

Why DevOps?
  • Enable IT organizations to demonstrably improve their service delivery capability and IT performance.
  • Enable organizations to improve the flow of work between software developers and IT operations professionals.
  • Improved workflows result in an improved ability to design, develop, deploy and operate software and services faster for the benefit of the business.
Who is DevOps for?
The DevOps certification scheme is aimed at individuals and organizations seeking a fundamental and common understanding of DevOps principles. These might include employees, managers, stakeholders and suppliers who are leading or contributing to an organization’s DevOps initiatives. Consultants who are guiding their clients through DevOps programs will also benefit greatly from DevOps certification.
