COURSE CONTENT
 
This course is designed for learners who are in the final phase of preparation for the Cisco CCIE® Routing and Switching lab. CIERS-2 provides an intensive, hands-on experience that includes four 8-hour Cisco CCIE-level labs and one 4-hour CCIEstyle lab. Learners perform five Performance Assessment Labs on five separate days, which establishes a performance trend that allows the learners to determine their level of readiness to attempt the actual Cisco CCIE Routing and Switching lab.
 
The course also allows learners to refine their end-to-end test-taking strategies and methods by applying these strategies and methods to five labs on five consecutive days. This approach helps to refine both time- and stress-management techniques.
 
After performing each of the five Performance Assessment Labs that are delivered in this course, learners receive detailed feedback on each section of the lab. This feedback includes the following detailed, web-linked Score Card:

This course is for technical professionals who are in the final stage of preparing for the Cisco CCIE Routing and Switching lab.
 
 
COURSE OBJECTIVES
 
Upon completion of this course, learners should:
  • Be able to read through a full-length Cisco CCIE lab and identify the tasks that they can easily perform
  • Be able to list and prioritize any remaining tasks; and perform them in the order they choose
  • Be able to develop well-defined sets of rigorous verification methods of specific and interrelated technologies
 
COURSE PREREQUISITES
 
Learners who attend this course must have completed Cisco Advanced Instructor-led Workshop I (CIERS-1) or its equivalent, or have a recorded strong attempt at the actual Cisco CCIE Routing and Switching lab.
 
Learners who are enrolled in this course must also possess a solid understanding of the core technologies that are encountered in the Cisco CCIE Routing and Switching lab. These technologies include: Frame Relay, Cisco Catalyst 3560 Series Switch baseline tasks, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIPv2), route redistribution, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
 
COURSE OUTLINE
 
The course outline is as follows:
  • Course Introduction: Review the general Cisco 360 problem-solving approach
  • Module 1: Perform the first full-length graded assessment lab and participate in the postexam review and discussion
  • Module 2: Perform the second full-length graded assessment lab and participate in the postexam review and discussion
  • Module 3: Perform the third full-length graded assessment lab and participate in the postexam review and discussion
  • Module 4: Perform the fourth full-length graded assessment lab and participate in the postexam review and discussion
  • Module 5: Perform the final graded assessment lab (4 hours) and participate in the postexam review and discussion
When performing each of these labs, learners are allowed to ask the instructor any question. Learners should frame each question as (1) a Cisco CCIE proctor-style question to emulate the actual CCIE lab experience, or (2) a standard instructor style question to maximize the learning and knowledge-transfer experience.
