Objectives
 
This course is designed for IT staff that is new to Linux and plan to Linux system administrator. In course, students will be able to perform installation, network configure, manage physical storage, and understand system administrator work.
 
 
Prerequisites
 
System administrator experience is helpful but not required.

6. Fundamental of File system structure
7. Fundamental of TCP/IP Networking
8. Prepare information for 1st time Linux installation 
9. Step-by-Step 1st time Linux installation
10. Post installation check and setting
11. Basic Linux command
12. Add and Delete User
13. Basic command for file and directory management
14. Runlevels
15. Shutdown
 
 
Day 2
1. History of Free Software and Open source
2. Another Linux distribution
3. Difference between UNIX and Linux
4. Root and user prompt
5. Re-direction symbol and information (>, >>, |, 2>)
6. Shell script fundamental
7. Schedule task with cron
8. Disk partition management
9. Monitor and Controller System tool (top, ps, kill)
10. Standard system and service log file
11. Install Fedora 
12. RAID concept
13. Linux RAID Subsystems
 
 
Day 3
1. System Administrator job
2. Management and routine work for System Administrator
3. Basic TCP/IP network command (ifconfig, netstat, route)
4. Network environment file (hosts file,hostname, nsswitch.conf)
5. Software update and Package management (GUI and yum)
6. Remote from another machine to Linux (telnet, secure shell, GUI remote)
7. Manage a firewall and understand SELinux concepts and manage SELinux
8. Pack/unpack command (zip, tar, cpio)
9. Archive Manager (GUI Tool)
10. Backup and restore concept and command
11. Deploy an FTP server and web server
12. Configure general service and chkconfig
13. Problem and troubleshooting
